Hardware used within an Asset can be stored within Asset Guardian®. As with many areas within this software package, the Hardware Register offers total flexibility in terms of the data that can be stored here.
For example, users within a manufacturing plant may want to store the components of their control system on a line-by-line basis, whereas users in an office environment may want to log their PC's, printers, photocopiers and other relevant hardware.
It is perfectly possible for these two sets of users to co-exist within Asset Guardian® as they can define their own Assets to suit their own particular need.
A master hardware parts list is created within Asset Guardian® to store the following information on the hardware components used in the organisation; Product Type; Manufacturer; Model; Part Number; Cost; Warranty Period and Recommended Spares Holding quantity.

Asset Guardian® provides a simple user form for entering new hardware within an Asset, allowing a Description, Location and Network name/address (if applicable) to be entered. All components of this hardware item can then be selected from drop-down lists from the master hardware parts list.
Software installed on your hardware that has been entered via the software control system will also be shown in the hardware register. This includes both Proprietary Software and bespoke Application Software. This powerful cross pollination of information between your hardware and software register simplifies the task of administering your installed systems.
