History

As a burgeoning software and systems company in the early 90's, ELiTE looked to set-up a quality system and procedures to provide safe storage, traceability and ensure repeatability in their project work with a view to ISO9001 TickIt registration.

Looking around for a database application to be used as a repository for their documents, drawings, software and project correspondence, ELiTE found products that would partially fulfil these functions but none that would satisfy them all.

So ELiTE set about writing their own application to be used as a basis for their Quality Assurance system. This initial application was based on Microsoft Access and provided the platform that enabled ELiTE to become ISO9001 TickIt approved in 1995. As well being used to control project work, the system also enabled ELiTE to store and track the large volumes of documents and software generated by their Y2K testing performed for their clients.

As the company grew, the application was migrated to Microsoft SQL Server, and was updated with new features, such as links to an e-mail server for automatic distribution of controlled documents and correspondence.

ELiTE again looked at the market place and realised there were still no applications that offered the features and flexibility of their own application. And so, encouraged by positive feedback from an external quality auditor, ELiTE set about shrink wrapping it into an affordable, easy to use product with all the powerful features included as standard.
